For most of the year, Cafe Flo is a sleepy downtown cafe located between the city's favorite gelato shop (Freddo) and sandwich shop (REX) that attracts a sexy clientele of models and could-be actress that want none of both. Located along behind one of La Barra's most charming café front, an all white eatery with ocean views and constant buzz of pretty and chic people manages to be a fine food pick as well as all-day cafe for Punta locals and visitor. During high season it's one of the toughest lunch tables in town, with a decked-out clientele in flowing linen or short swimsuits with open shirts revealing the types of bodies that rarely indulge in anything other than coffee and nicotine.
The Food
A delicious and thoroughly sophisticated cafe menu offers a selection of morning breakfast ranging from egg-white omelets to simple baked pastries from an in-house baker. Fresh squeezed juices and array of coffee drinks are available throughout the day, but expect for a lengthy wait on the latter if arriving with the morning’s 11am rush. Lunch is a more elaborate affair with fancy salads tossed with salmon, shrimp and array of cheeses that are accompanied by more hefty chicken and occasional beef entree. Dinner is a slightly more formal affair mixed in with an after-dinner crowd looking for something sweets like homemade tortes and cakes.
